الدرس الحادي عشر : النجمة ______ lesson 11 : the asterisk *

* This is an asterisk and is used in some newspapers to replace letters in words that may offend people.

 ان هذه العلامة هي علامة النجمة وهي تستخدم في بعض الجرائد لاستبدال بعض الاحرف في الكلمات التي من الممكن ان تسيء للناس او تزعجهم

 It can also tell us that there is a note of explanation about what has been written. 

 وهي ايضا من الممكن ان تخبرنا ان هناك ملاحظة شارحة حول الكلام المكتوب

The note can usually be found at the bottom of the page.

وعادة ما يوجد الشرح في اسفل الصفحة  

اي تستخدم للاشارة الى الحاشية

الدرس العاشر : نقاط الحذف ... ______ lesson 10 : ellipses

 ... This is an ellipsis and is used to show that the writer has left something out deliberately; or has offered a thought that isn't complete; or to show that time has passed; or to show that a speech was all over the place.

هذه علامة الحذف وهي تخبر ان الكاتب قد اسقط بعض الكلمات متعمدا . او انه قدم فكرة غير مكتملة . او قد تبين ان وقتا مضا . او لتوضح ان كلاما كان قد انتشر 

Examples:

"I wanted to tell her I loved her but..."

Furthermore, the rules state that, "Homework must be completed on time...All late homework will lose marks."

الدرس التاسع : علامة الاستفهام _____ lesson 9 : question mark

? 

 This is an easy one, it is the question mark. 

هذه علامة سهلة للفهم . وهي علامة الاستفهام 

؟

 It tells us that what has just come before is either a direct question or the speaker or writer is a little doubtful about how correct the statement is. 

وهي تخبرنا ان الكلام الواقع قبلها هو اما سؤال مباشر . او ان المتكلم او الكاتب مرتاب قليلا حول صحة العبارة او الكلام

الدرس الثامن علامة التعجب _______ lesson 8 : the exclamation mark

! The exclamation mark =======     علامة التعجب !

 gives a lot of oomph to words that are placed in front of it. It can tell us that a word is stated in anger or disgust, has the opposite meaning, or is an insult or a command.

تضفي علامة التعجب او الغضب على الكلمات التي تتوضع علامة التعجب امامها  الكثير من الجاذبية . فهي تخبرنا ان الكلمة قد قيلت في حالة غضب او اشمئزاز او انه عني بها المعنى المعاكس او انها اهانة او انها كلمة امر او سيطرة 

   

Examples:

امثلة :  

Give me my money now!

You are such a nosey parker!

You have to do four essays by Monday!
